FloridaMarshSusanHessArtlofts presents “Art Goes Green” on Saturday, May 8th.  This new exhibition by Artloft Artists highlights environmental concerns through their subject matter or by the use of recycled materials.

“Florida Marsh'” by Susan Hess is painted on Yupo, an environmentally friendly synthetic paper.  No trees were used in its making and it is 100% recyclable.

Visit the artists in their working studios and enjoy refreshments.

ArtLofts is a collection of working artist studios. The artists display their work for visitors to explore and enjoy during Gallery Walk, which is held every second Saturday of the month from 5:30 - 9:00 pm, in conjunction with events at Florida Craftsmen and by special appointment with individual artists.

Visitors are welcomed and encouraged to chat with an artist while experiencing the creative energy of an actual studio.

The artworks and artists at ArtLofts are multi-faceted from contemporary to pushing the envelope of mixed media to sculpture and traditional art.

Bizet's Carmen at Ruth Eckerd Hall
Written by Administrator
Saturday, 23 January 2010 18:29

Bizet’s revolutionary opera is as fascinating and electrifying as ever and comes to life when Teatro Lirico D’Europa presents Carmen. Betrayal, jealousy, metamorphosis from law-abiding soldier to thief, smuggler, even murderer. America’s favorite opera sizzles with excitement as the irresistible gypsy Carmen seduces Don José, leads him from a life of respectability to one of crime, then casts him callously aside in favor of another – with dire consequences.
