image0 Join the Jewish Community in celebrating Israel's 62nd Independence Day featuring The Moshav Band. Sunday April 18.

Raised in Israel on musical village Moshav Meor Modi’im in the hills between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, the band is composed of brothers Yehuda (vocals, percussion), David Benjamin (guitar vocals) and Yosef (Bass, vocals).

Their American parents had moved to Israel in 1972 just in time for the Yom Kippur War and made their home on the Israeli village.  The only electrical applicance in their house was the record player, so instead of watching television and playing video games, they listened to the music of Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Neil Young.

Their music is combines rock/folk/reggae songs, tinged with Middle Eastern musical themes and features cuts from their latest release, “Misplaced'”.

The event will also include Kosher Israeli foods, Judaica vendors, Israeli crafts, bouncy houses, kids projects, Israeli dancing and a ‘Kumzitz’ camp style sing-along.

Free admission.

Sunday April 18,2010, at the Largo Cultural Center from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
