A pair of Dunedin Ospreys are gathering worldwide attention.  The Osprey pair, located at Saint Andrews Links Golf Course, 620 Palm Boulevard, Dunedin, is nesting on a platform equipped with a web camera. The three eggs laid by the pair are about to hatch and can be seen at www.DunedinOspreyCam.org.

Dunedin Mayor Dave Eggers will be visiting the site on Wednesday, February 3rd at 10 AM to promote usage of the website and to increase awareness of the richness of Dunedin's wildlife and recreational diversity.  "The Osprey Cam is also a wonderful tool for bringing nature into classrooms," commented Sparky Jones, who founded the project and is President of the Friends of SunCoast Wildlife.  The project has been a team effort between the City of Dunedin, the Clearwater Audubon Society, Zucker and Zucker Marketing with Creativity, a local business hosting the website, and many volunteers.  "The help and assistance from Paul Sylvester at Saint Andrews Links, Art Finn, Parks Superintendent and Scott Falcon of the Dunedin IT Department have been crucial to the project," said Barbara Walker of the Clearwater Audubon Society who developed the site's educational content and assists in managing the website.  Members of the media are welcome to attend the press conference at Saint Andrews Links, 620 Palm Boulevard, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 10 AM and get a behind-the-scenes look at the Osprey Cam setup.  Photos are available from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
